Terms of Service

Last updated August 26, 2026

This is a plain-language template, not legal advice. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be before you rely on it for a real commercial launch, especially given the subscription billing described below.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or otherwise using SiteShore (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree to them, don't use the Service.

2. What the Service does

SiteShore lets you search for local businesses using the Google Places API, view them on a map and list, and generate a website for a business using AI. Generated sites can be edited, downloaded, and published to a shareable link hosted by SiteShore.

3. Accounts

You need an account, authenticated through Clerk, to use most of the Service. You're responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You must be able to form a binding contract to create an account, which generally means being at least 18, or the age of majority where you live.

4. Plans, billing, and cancellation

SiteShore offers a free plan and paid subscription plans (Starter and Pro) with monthly search and website-generation limits. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we don't provide partial refunds for unused time unless required by law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to build or publish anything illegal, fraudulent, or deceptive.
  • Publish content that infringes someone else's intellectual property or violates their rights.
  • Try to abuse, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service, or bypass its usage limits.
  • Use the Google Places search results for anything Google's own terms don't permit, such as building a competing places database.

6. Generated and published content

Websites are generated by an AI model based on business data and any instructions you provide. AI-generated content can be inaccurate or unsuitable as-is, so review and edit it before you rely on it or hand it to a client. You're responsible for what you publish through the Service, including any site made public at a SiteShore link. We can take down published content that violates these terms.

As between you and SiteShore, you own the sites you generate. We don't claim ownership of your generated content, but you're responsible for having the right to use any business data, photos, or reviews that go into it.

7. Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties, including Google (Places API, Maps, and Gemini), Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), and Firebase (data storage). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' own terms, and we aren't responsible for their availability or accuracy.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, SiteShore isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service changes. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
